DomusCoir® — made for the plants that make a house a home

There is something rather satisfying about caring for a houseplant: finding its place, watching a new leaf unfurl and knowing when it is time for a larger pot. The growing medium is part of that everyday care.

DomusCoir® brings CoirProducts®’ specialist understanding of coir indoors. This 20-litre, coir-based houseplant compost is supplied ready to use, with a light, fibrous texture suited to potting and repotting many familiar indoor plants. It offers a convenient alternative to keeping several separate ingredients to hand.

Best for

Everyday indoor potting and repotting; refreshing tired potting medium; houseplants grown in containers with drainage. Plant requirements vary: orchids, cacti, succulents and other specialist plants may need a different or more freely draining formulation.

How to use DomusCoir®

1. Choose a clean pot with drainage holes, ideally only slightly larger than the existing root ball.
2. Open the bag and gently loosen the growing medium. If it feels dry, moisten it lightly before planting.
3. Add a little DomusCoir® to the base, position the plant and fill around the roots without pressing the mix down firmly.
4. Water to settle the medium and allow excess water to drain away. Adjust subsequent watering to the plant, season and conditions.
5. Check the plant’s feeding requirements. Do not assume the mix provides a complete or long-lasting nutrient programme unless confirmed on the pack.

How much will I need?

The amount depends on pot shape and the space occupied by the root ball. As a rough guide, a 20 L bag holds enough loose medium to fill approximately ten empty 2 L pots; actual repotting use will differ. Check your pot capacity before ordering and allow a little extra for settling.
